If you have a question or issue within your chain.report account, please consider the following points:
Please check our FAQs first:
https://help.chain.report/en/Many topics such as:
"I see warnings in my account"
"My exchange or wallet is not supported"
"My CSV upload is not working"
"My tax liability is way too high"
"My balances do not match"
"The amounts in the disposals seem incorrect to me"
"My smart contract is not being recognized correctly"
"My CSV upload is not working"
...
are addressed there. Our tax assessment and functionality are also explained in detail here. The linked videos also include comprehensive walkthrough guides.
If you have an individual issue, please use the contact form afterwards to report an error.
Please make some preparations so that we can analyze the issue:
Please use the following template in the error description:1) Confirm with checkmarks that you have used the FAQs https://help.chain.report/en/ and the search function to find answers to your questions
2) Which transaction(s) are involved? (Date, time, transaction type, token, amount, ...). Document the issue as much as possible with a single example transaction.3) Where do you see an error? What was your actual expectation?
4) Can a screenshot from chain.report clarify this?
5) Is there, for example, a CSV file or other files to document the error? Are there other sources that prove your error? Please upload them. (Note: Please only upload the file that clearly identifies the error)
We need a precise error description based on concrete data, where the error can be identified in specific transactions or other points. Without a recognizable error, we unfortunately cannot process the support ticket.
Our Trader and Professional customers can use the support chat on the website.
Note: The following examples are not error descriptions: Namely, if you cannot clearly identify the error or its cause:
Examples:a) The tax liability is too high, but you don't know exactly why?
b) The balances do not match.
c) I cannot resolve warnings.
d) The values in disposals or acquisition prices seem incorrect.
e) My smart contracts are not being recognized correctly.
Please understand that we cannot perform a portfolio analysis to search for potential errors for non-Professional packages. This option is available for the Professional package. A good starting point is our FAQ - there you will find answers to most questions, especially regarding differing balances. If there is a specific error in chain.report, we will gladly fix it (see point 5.)
Is your question general in nature and could it also interest other users? Then you can use the Telegram channel instead of the support chat. You can find it at: https://t.me/chainreport
However, to avoid flooding the Telegram channel, individual topics and potential errors should not be discussed there. Please do not immediately label your "finding" as an "error" before we have analyzed it. This could confuse other users and leave a false impression. It might be more about clarifying the functionality rather than an error?
chain.report cannot provide you with tax advice. Please note that all tax interpretations are described here:
These describe the tax assessment in chain.report and are neither binding nor do they replace tax advice.
We cannot assist you in the Investor and Trader packages with the search for potential and alleged errors.
Example: Your balances do not match the actual balances. This can have countless reasons, such as your entered data, but also the data provided by the exchanges, which would require a detailed analysis and often a user "training". This search for potential errors and training is reserved for the Professional package. More info on the Professional package here.
Another example:
"I see warnings, please check what's wrong."
It's best to check our FAQ here as well. Warnings usually indicate missing data. The ball is in your court here - for example, to enter the source of deposits or the destination of withdrawals.
