Interest in My Nexo.io Wallet Is Recorded as Staking and Credit Card Payments Are Not Tracked

his is the reason, and here’s how you can handle it:

Updated over a week ago

You have created a Nexo.io wallet in chain.report and uploaded the corresponding CSV exports.

Staking Transactions

Have you noticed that the interest you received is tracked as staking profits instead of expenses?

Unfortunately, this is due to the export provided by Nexo. The representation in the CSV for interest and staking profits is identical. Therefore, we cannot distinguish which transaction type is involved. By default, we have opted to declare them as staking transactions, as this is the more common use case.

What can you do now? You need to edit the individual transactions in the transaction list, set the transaction type to “Fees,” and convert the corresponding amount to a negative value.

If there is an update from Nexo regarding this, we will, of course, keep you informed.

Credit Card Payments

It’s possible that individual credit card payments with your Nexo Card are not listed as transactions. In chain.report, we use the settlement payment instead, where the credit amount in your credit card wallet is settled with a crypto amount. This settlement, which can combine multiple payments, is represented as a Payment transaction.

Have you checked these points and still see an error in chain.report?

Then we need a precise error description, identifying the issue with specific transactions or other points. Helpful information includes:

  1. Which transaction(s) are involved? (Date, time, transaction type, token, amount, ...). Please provide a single specific example if possible.

  2. Where do you see an error?

  3. Can a screenshot clarify this?

  4. Is there a relevant CSV file? Please upload it as well.

If you can clearly identify the error, please send us the data via the support chat on the website.

If you cannot clearly identify the error or its cause:
Example: The tax burden is too high, but you don’t know exactly why?
Example: You can’t resolve warnings?
Example: There are balance discrepancies in the wallets.
Please understand that for non-Professional users, we cannot perform a portfolio analysis to search for potential errors. This option is available with the Professional Package. A good starting point would be our FAQ – there you’ll find answers to these three points and most other questions.
